We’re fans of bagless vacuum cleaners because they don’t come with the added expense of buying vacuum bags, and they are also better for the environment. What we don’t like about them is the dust cloud that can be kicked up when you empty them into the trash. The LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Kompressor Plus (opens in new tab) solves all that by emptying its in-built bin into a trash bag when you return it to the docking station, which is one less chore to worry about. Of course, you’ll have to empty the trash from the docking station when it’s full, but because it’ll already be bagged and ready to go you won’t have to worry about breathing in any dust or dirt.
LG CordZeroThinQ: Spec and features
Of course, the CordZeroThinQ isn’t the only, or indeed the first vacuum cleaner that comes with self-emptying. Many of the best robot vacuums (opens in new tab), most notably the iRobot Roomba i7+ (opens in new tab), come with self-emptying bases that will not only clean your home but dispose of the dirt too. This technology will come in useful with stick vacuums too, because unlike robot vacuums you can use them on the stairs and across multiple floors of the house. Although the self-emptying dust bin is the standout feature in the CordZeroThinQ, it has even more smart features to take advantage of. The stand certainly looks the part, and provides storage for six attachments and nozzles. This includes the 2-in-1 Combination Tool, Crevice Tool, and Pet Nozzle. The touch display on the charging dock enables you to switch between settings easily, and you can also transform the stick vacuum into a mop using the Power Mop attachment. This uses “washable, dual spinning microfiber pads automatically moistened by the vacuum’s integrated water tank.” We’ll keep you posted with more information (such as the price) on the new LG CordZeroThinQ A9 Kompressor Plus when it’s available.
